Two directors – one French with roots in Germany and one German with roots in Ukraine; two documentaries about WWII mothers; two persons looking for reason and truth; two different stories but with the same question: What happened – really?

What makes a filmmaker look into the corners of history, to the parts of the family history that your mother chose not to mention? How can these investigations make sense for other people? What can the meeting between the two directors teach us today?

In cooperation with Stadsarkivet, Malmö stad.

Screening films made by female directors since 2006
